As you can see from this vid, we are having a baby. Our world is begining to swirl and spin with happiness and the strange overcoming idea of being responsible for a life!

We desire all of your prayers for Elizabeth and for the coming baby.

Last Friday I decided to go on a walk. I drove a little bit away from the town and parked on this road.

The sign says "Road Closed" with bullet holes to back it up!

Naturally I look pretty concerned!

I walked along until I came to this sign. Should I keep going or should I turn back. It turns out that the bridge was not that bad. It was simply an old sign.

This seemed to be some sort of observation shack. There was a table and some beds and a wood furnace in this building. It struck me as odd to have a building out here where nobody lives! This building overlooks this little stream that was very swollen from spring rain.

This stream flowed out to this boggy area.

I have never seen a plant like this! There were thousands of these just growing everywhere in the marshy water.

In case you were worried that I wouldn't get to have any fun out in the woods, I found this TV. I got to watch it. It was pretty sweet!

This is both funny and sad.

FUNNY:
Can you see this sermon done as a SNL skit? Maybe with Will Farrell as the Pissing Pastor? I think that I would laugh so hard I would pee my pants. (standing up of course)

Or could you imagine the object lesson you could give for this sermon...! It is a built in sermon illustration! AWESOME!

SAD:
This is immensely sad because this guy is preaching his own doctrine and not God's Word. The immediate context of every person that "pisseth against the wall" is death and destruction on their heads. (1Sa 25:22, 1Sa 25:34, 1Ki 14:10, 1Ki 16:11, 1Ki 21:21, 2Ki 9:8) This guy is a very poor student of the Word. There is actually more of an argument against peeing on the wall than for it! Although clearly that is not even the point. The point is destruction against the men in those families or towns!

This is also sad because this shows the world that Christians are unloving and strange and more concerned about the way we pee over the condition of our hearts. This is evil masquerading as Christianity. It must be stopped. The only way that I know how to counter things like this is through love. I will show the love of Christ to the people in my context so that they will know that I Christians are not like that. I will spread love in my town so that all will know and see the love of Christ. No cliche. This is the power to change the world.

So we are proud new home owners!!!
This is a picture of us in our new house and a picture of our new house.
This picture of our house is not current because it is now covered in about a foot of snow! We are excited about this house, though it needs a ton of work!

The whole closing process was torturous. The loan we got was a FHA Construction Loan. This allows us to buy the house and fix it up with the money from the loan/mortgage. As we were going through the document that outlined all of the numbers, it claimed that we were taking out $5000 more than we had asked for. We had to trace this all the way back the chain of paper pushers till we found out that the appraiser would not approve the loan if the roof was unrepaired. So rather than telling us this, they just added $5000 to the loan amount!

Yikes.

But all documents were signed and all went well!

A Closing Date...
